AΒ high performance spherical disc butterfly valveΒ is a butterfly valve designed using double offset geometry in which the disc sealing profile is curved rather than flat. This spherical or conical-style sealing contour allows line contact with the seat instead of full surface rubbing contact.
This design reduces operating friction, lowers torque requirement, improves sealing performance, and reduces seat wear compared with standard concentric butterfly valves in more demanding applications.
The disc sealing edge is profiled with a spherical or conical geometry, allowing line contact sealing and lower rubbing friction during operation.
The shaft is offset from both the body centerline and sealing plane, allowing the disc to disengage from the seat quickly during opening and closing.
